Al-Sarraj discusses the security arrangements



The head of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, met, on Saturday, with the head of the Security Arrangements Committee in Tripoli, General Hammad Aboud.

Aboud reported to Al-Sarraj the latest of the arrangements to secure the Greater Tripoli, and the work mechanisms and the cooperation between the committee and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

According to the media office of the GNA, Aboud provided a detailed explanation to Al-Sarraj about the up-to-date in the efforts of the committee. Aboud told Al-Sarraj that the committee is committing to its specific tasks as agreed when the committee was formed.

Aboud said that the committee is working on regaining the sites where the regular forces should be stationed in the capital city and the areas around it.

Aboud clarified that what has been achieved in Tripoli would reach the other Libyan cities.

From its side, the UNSMIL had welcomed the achievements of the committee according to the decree of the PC No: 1303 that supported by the United Nations.

The UNSMIL expressed its happiness for the plan, which was provided to Al-Sarraj, for the withdrawal of the armed groups from the sovereign institutions and replacing them with regular forces. The UNSMIL call on the PC to approve the plan and start implementing it.
