Protesters prevent HoR members from meeting

Protesters closed, on Monday, the headquarters of the House of Representatives (HoR) led by the citizen Faraj Adam, who is known as Abu-Akkouz, which means the man of the walking stick.

The protesters prevented the HoR members from entering the meetings hall except for the head of the HoR, Ageela Saleh.

The HoR member, Jalal Al-Shwehdi, stated that the HoR members couldn’t enter to convene. Also, the HoR member, Al-Sadeq Al-Kuhaili, confirmed the same problem.

From his side, the HoR member, Mawlood Al-Aswad, said that the number of the protesters is few but “they were able to prevent us from entering.”

It is worth mentioning that Saleh called, last week the HoR members to attend the sessions on Monday and Tuesday to vote on the constitution referendum law.

58 HoR members arrived in Tobruk, on Sunday, to participate in the voting operation.

the discussions on the referendum law witness a widespread controversy because some are refusing the constitution draft.

Last week, the HoR called its members to convene on Monday and Tuesday to vote on the law. The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) expressed its happiness for the HoR decision to meet. The UNSMIL pointed out that the International Community is following up the process with great attention for the sake of coming to a bright democratic future in Libya.
