CBL: Libya not accused of money laundering anymore



The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) said in a statement, on Wednesday, that the International Co-operation Review Group (ICRG) affiliated with Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF) had decided that, on Tuesday, that Libya is no longer in the list of the followed-up countries.

The CBL described the decision as a great achievement for Libya because it is no longer accused of money laundering.

The CBL stated that this achievement means that the FATF had confirmed that Libya complies with the requirements and the obligations of fighting the crimes of money laundering and financing terrorism according to the international criteria.

The CBL stressed that this would reflect positively on Libya’s reputation and enhance the international financial and economic corporations in the Libya banking and financial corporations.
