Al-Sarraj meets Sullivan in Tunis

The head of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, met in Tunis, on Saturday, the Deputy US Foreign Minister, John J. Sullivan.

The meeting tackled the latest of the political situation in Libya and the relationship between Libya and the United States.

Sullivan said that his country supports the GNA in its efforts to achieve security and stability in Libya. He also confirmed what the American deputy envoy to the United Nations announced last Thursday that the International Community would work against instability and the ones who obstruct the political operation in Libya.

Al-Sarraj told Sullivan that it is necessary to prepare for the elections and the referendum on the draft of constitution urgently.

In the same context, the member of the PC, Ahmed Mitig, met Sullivan and talked about strengthening the cooperation between Libya and the US in the fields of commerce, economy, and rebuilding the state institutions in Libya.
