The head of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, made a phone call, Wednesday evening, with United Nations Envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, to discuss the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the city of Derna.
Al-Sarraj expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the slow response of the International Community towards the inhabitants’ sufferings in Derna. He called the UN and the International Community to intervene urgently to help in opening the safe paths for the humanitarian aid and the essential needs.
Al-Sarraj called the UN Security Council to start necessary investigations to reveal the sources of the air raids on Derna that killed civilians including children and women.
Salame promised Al-Sarraj to make his efforts to end the suffering of the citizens in Derna.
