The United Nations Envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, had denounced killing more than 36 persons in Al-Abiar area, to the east of the city of Benghazi.
Salame called the Libyan authorities to start immediate and fair investigations.
Salame said, in a statement, that the crime had terrified him, adding that many similar crimes had happened for two years without any investigations.
It is worth mentioning that the bodies of the victims were found handcuffed and tortured.
Salame added that killing the prisoners or issuing orders to kill them is a crime according to the local and international laws.
The crime occurred in the area that controlled by the Dignity Operation under the leadership of General Khalifa Haftar.
