Igtet arrives in Tripoli to lead demonstrations – Photos

According to social media pages, Libyan citizens start gathering in Martyrs Square in central Tripoli, Monday afternoon.

A video clip and images are circulated on Facebook pages showing personalities from Tripoli and some other areas started gathering to demonstrate and support the activist, Basit Igtet who called for the demonstrations in Tripoli.

It is worth mentioning that Igtet called the Libyan to protest in the Martyrs Square in Tripoli on 25th of this month. Igtet said that he expects that the event would inspire the people and international human rights organizations would follow it.

Tripoli witnessed high-security procedures and the Central Security Directorate in Tripoli refused to give permissions to the demonstration organizers.

In the same context, Igtet arrived in Tripoli, on Monday, through Mitiga Airport.

Igtet had appeared confirmed that he already arrives in Tripoli confirming that the demonstrations would start in its expected time despite the rejection of the Central Security Directorate.

The Libyans are observing what would happen if the protestors appear in the main square in Tripoli to denounce the political and economic crisis in Libya.

Witnesses told media sources that on the other hand there are other groups started to appear in the demonstration but to oppose Igtet’s movement.

Moreover, a Salafist group in Tripoli had advised the citizens not to demonstrate to support Igtet.The group distributed leaflets describing the leaders of the demonstration as heretics and warning against falling into sedition.
