Al-Mesmary announces to confront Italy

The spokesperson of the army of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ahmed Al-Mesmary, said that his forces, which led by General Khalifa Haftar, would confront the Italian military interference.

It is worth mentioning that some media websites talked about two Italian warships preparing to carry out an operation to the Libyan coast after Paris meeting that gathered Haftar and the head of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj.

Al-Mesmary announced, on Sunday, that Haftar’s forces are ready to respond strongly very soon if the Italians come to the Libyan coast.

Al-Mesmary added that his troops wouldn’t accept the presence of the Italian forces in the Libyan territorial waters because it would spoil the results of Paris meeting, which was welcomed by the EU and the UN.

It is significant to mention that Al-Sarraj and his Foreign Minister, Mohamed Seyala, denied the news that they requested the Italian interference despite the Italian news that talked about bringing two warships, five monitoring planes, and 700 soldiers to the Libyan coast.

From his side, the Italian Prime Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, confirmed that his country is not intending present on the Libyan grounds.
