AFRICOM: Bodde and Waldhauser didn’t visit Haftar

The United State Africa Command (US AFRICOM) denied the circulated news that US AFRICOM Commander, Thomas Waldhauser, and the US ambassador, Peter Bodde, visited the commander of the army of the House of Representatives (HoR), General Khalifa Haftar, at his headquarters.

From his side, Bodde said that he only met Haftar on 9th July in Amman, adding that that meeting was the last meeting for him with Haftar.

Bodde stated that the US is committed to cooperate with all Libyans to help in returning the stability and ending the disputes in Libya. He clarified that therefore the US insisted on communicating with a broad spectrum of the Libyan political and security personalities in Libya.

Bodde pointed that he also met with the head of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, on 23rd May for the sake of coming to a logical solution through the Libyan Political Agreement.

It is worth mentioning that Haftar’s media office announced, a few days ago, that Waldhauser and Bodde had visited Haftar in his office in the city of Al-Marj, to talk about how to cooperate to fight the terrorism.
