Oil Crescent, the closure of Coastal Road



Benghazi Defense Brigades had closed the coastal road at the exit junction to Al-Noflea west of Al-Sedra.

It is worth mentioning that the forces of Benghazi Defense Brigades moved towards the Oil Crescent Region from Al-Noflea then towards Al-Sedra and Ras-Lanuf, the east.

From his side, the commander of the forces of the Operation “Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous,” Brigadier Bashir Al-Gadhi, said that he hadn’t ordered his troops to participate in the clashes at the Oil Crescent Region.

He stated that his forces are protecting the city of Sirte and the suburbs to facilitate the return of Sirte citizens to their homes.

In a related context, the National Oil Corporation (NOC) convened, on Saturday, to revise the schedule of the operations of shipping the crude and protecting the oil institutions after the clashes in the region.

The NOC said, in a statement, that it there was another meeting, on Friday, to discuss the procedures of the occupational and industrial safety inside the oil ports. It also talked about the security of the workers and oil assets.

The head of the NOC, Mustafa Sanalla, stated that they the statements of the Salvation Government doesn’t represent the NOC’s opinion at all.

The NOC stressed that it is affiliated with the House of Representatives (HoR) as the legislature authority and the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA) as the highest executive authority, according to the Political Agreement (PA).
