Miitig: Al-Jufra shelling blows up reconciliation efforts



The member of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Ahmed Mitig, warned of the consequences of the air bombardment of the military plane of the army of the House of Representatives (HoR) under the leadership of the commander General Khalifa Haftar in Al-Jufra Airbase. Mitig said that “such act blows up any reconciliation efforts, that can’t be tolerated,” and “indicates a desire that not to restore to the voice of mind.”

Mitig said, in a statement via his Facebook page, on Wednesday, that “repeated shelling of civilian and military installations and killing the civilians only for fighting terrorism, foretells a desire not to use mind or a wish to put the country’s interests first.”

“What Al-Jufra airport witnessed of civilian killings, is a part of the attempts to end all reconciliation efforts, peace, and security. It can weaken the force to push the country into an endless cycle of chaos and instability,” he added.

Mitig pointed that the shelling targeted air transport jet affiliated with Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous forces, which was carrying officers came to Al-Jufra to condoles one family of their dead colleague.
