Haftar forces erect a checkpoint east of Sirte

The army forces of the House of Representatives (HoR) under the leadership of General Khalifa Haftar had erected a military checkpoint in Al-Aamerah, 65 Km eastern Sirte.

A security source said that “the forces are equipped with a broad range of artillery; their role is to search all the cars that are coming from the city of Sirte to the eastern side of Libya.”

Media sources said that plans are underway to open a police station at the checkpoint within the next two days.

An eyewitness stated that the forces caught a person accusing him of being a terrorist between the farms in the area, while he was unarmed. When he was captured, he stated that he has been on the run from Sirte for a few days and that he ran away on foot with some others.

It is significant to mention that the forces of Haftar attacked a location of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous in Al-Jufra. Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous had condemned the attack, considering Haftar’s attack as a possible start of the war on the forces that liberated Sirte from the terrorist group of Daesh.
