Al-Koni: More strict security procedures in Tamanhant



The Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Moussa Al-Koni, said that the PC is hardly trying to find solutions to crises and difficulties that are directly affecting the citizens in in the different cities across Libya.

He added, in a media statement, that “the PC is seeking to empower municipalities to perform its real and primary duties, provide services to citizens, and directly oversee and resolve crises felt in their cities in coordination with the Local Governance Ministry.”

Regarding Tamanhant airport and the procedures that taken after the hijacking of Malta plane, Al-Koni said that “all proceedings are taken to increase the security inside the airport and prevent the repetition of such incidents.”

Al-Koni convened, on Tuesday, with representatives of the House of Representatives (HoR) from the southern Libya, and members of Al-Bawanees Municipality and elders and notables to discuss the possibility of resolving the difficulties and provide the basic needs for Tamanhant airport.

Tamanhant Airport is the only air gateway in southern Libya after Sabha airport stopped working, it provides services for cities like Al-Bawanees, Al-Sharkyia, Al-Qarda, Sabha, and Samno.
