Tulty: No communications between Al-Sarraj and Clinton

The spokesperson of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Ashraf Tulty, denied, on Sunday, the news on communications between the head of the PC, Fayez Al-Sarraj, and Hilary Clinton. He stressed that the story is not true.

An Italian news website published on Friday that Al-Sarraj communicated with Clinton, and she asked him to keep standing in front of General Khalifa Haftar until she wins in the US presidential elections.

Tulty told Al-Wasat Website that this news story was fabricated, adding that the PC as the legal power in Libya wouldn’t communicate with a candidate of presidential elections in another country. He highlighted that this thing is not acceptable in the international norms.

On another side, Tulty talked about the adoption of the new ambassadors to Libya by the PC in Tripoli, last few days. He clarified that the PC accepted the official papers of the new ambassadors of Canada, Austria, Turkey, and Yemen.

Tulty considered this procedure as vital, which would ease the traveling of the citizens from and to these countries.

Tulty stated that there are significant efforts by the Libyan Foreign Ministry to reopen the Italian embassy in Tripoli.
