Reactions on abducting Al-Omrani



The abduction of the General Secretary of the Libyan Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Nader Al-Omrani, from Al-Fawateer Mosque in Tripoli on Thursday, had raised official and popular reactions.

The reactions had considered the action as evidence that Tripoli is not safe and that the phenomenon of abduction is adding fuel to the fire.

Furthermore, there is no any side has adopted the action or announced responsibility and no information has been provided about the reasons for the abduction.

From its side, the Libyan Association of Muslim Scholars and Dar Al-Ifta in Tripoli had denounced the kidnapping. The mufti Shiekh Sadeq Al-Geriani had published a statement condemning the action, calling for demonstrations on Friday in the Libyan cities to denounce what he described it as a disgraceful act.

The Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA) also denounced the kidnapping action. The PC had ordered the Interior Ministry to follow up and find the offenders and bring them to the justice.

The PC announced on its official Facebook that the Interior Ministry and the security institutions must face this dangerous phenomenon; pointing that the enforced disappearance incidents are threatening the country and its safety.

Also, the State Council condemned the abduction act and called for the importance of ending the time of chaos and crime. The State Council asked the PC and all of the security institutions to work on eliminating these phenomena.
