Controversies in Paris meeting on Libya

Diplomatic sources revealed that the international meeting on Libya in Paris witnessed controversies between the major powers.

The high Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini, denounced inviting the Libyan Interim Government affiliated to the House of Representatives (HoR) without inviting the Presidential Council (PC) in Tripoli.

From its side, Italy objected the outlines of the agenda, which was prepared by Paris for the meeting.

The Libyan Foreign Minister of the Interim Government arrived in Paris, on Sunday, to represent his government, while the head of the PC, Fayez Al-Sarraj, arrived in Algeria for an official visit.

The Arab League expressed its astonishment that it was not invited to the meeting in Paris.
