Saleh and Abul-Gait talked about Libya in Cairo



The head of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ageela Saleh, met the General Secretary of Arab League, Ahmed Abul-Gait, on Thursday, and talked about how to resolve Libyan crisis. They also discussed the challenges and the obstacles inside the HoR that face the Libyan Political Agreement and the endorsement of the Government of National Accord (GNA).

A media source said that the meeting talked about some important issues and how can the Arab League support to Libya through its legitimate authorities.

The source stated that Saleh also considered Nouakchott announcement, which called the Arab leaders to help in rebuilding the new Libya and tackling terrorism.

From his side, the spokesperson for the Arab League, Mahmoud Afify, said that Saleh reviewed the Libyan situation, mainly what is related the duty of the HoR and its attitude regarding activating the Libyan Political Agreement of Skhirat.

Afify said that the talked about the obstacles that face progress of returning security and stability in Libya and how to overcome terrorism.

Afify clarified that Abul-Gait was keen to address the role of the Arab League in the last summit, stressing that it is essential to recognize Arab League’s duty.
