LIBYAPROSPECT – Cairo
The head of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ageela Saleh, arrived in Cairo with a delegation of tribal sheiks from the eastern side of Libya, to discuss how Egypt can support the HoR to end the political crisis in Libya.
The member of the HoR, Ibrahim Al-Zagaid, said in a press release that Saleh would talk to Egyptian officials about how they can help ending the political crisis in Libya. He stated that they will also discuss how Egypt can support the HoR against the Presidential Council (PC) in Tripoli, describing it and the Government of National Accord (GNA) as unconstitutional.
Al-Zagaid confirmed that the HoR refuses the result of the Libyan Agreement (PA), which formed the PC of one president and nine deputies, and deactivated all of the laws the HoR issued, like the anti-terrorism law and the law of political isolation.
He clarified that this visit to Egypt based on the importance of Libya for Egypt, adding that the national security of Libya is the natural extension of the Egyptian national security, in addition to the historical relationship that links the two countries together.
