Six Egyptian laborers, who were kidnapped by an armed group in Libya, have been released and arrived at the El-Salloum border crossing on Monday afternoon, it is believed that they were released a few days earlier.
The workers were kidnapped in the city of Bani Waleed by an armed group, who demanded 200,000 Libyan Dinars for ransom, it remains unclear regarding the reason of circumstance for the release. The Egyptians came to Libya from Egypt and worked in Tripoli; it is believed that they were abducted on their way back to Egypt by the armed group.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry has previously called upon all of its citizens to avoid traveling to Libya, especially after the Islamic State (IS) brutally murdered 20 Egyptian laborers nearby the city of Derna, the warning is still in effect.
