LIBYAPROSPECT – Khartoum

An Italian drone strike has killed the Sudanese national, Mighani Badawi Al-Bashir, also known as Abu-Alhareth, a leading member of the Islamic state (IS) in Libya on a stronghold in the city of Sirte, 500km east of Tripoli, the capital, Libya.

Since last year waves of Sudanese nationals, mainly youth and students came to Libya to join the terrorist organization. Abu-Alhareth is one of IS’s well-known preachers; he preached multiple times in Sirt’s mosques where he described the police, the Libyan government and the judiciary, all as ‘tyrants.’
