Winer: It is important for EU ministers to agree and promote anti-people smuggling in the Mediterranean - Internet

LIBYAPROSPECT – London

The United Stated special envoy to Libya, Jonathan Winer, said that the current situation in Ajdabya city needs integrated safety and military institutions to combat terrorists.

He welcomed, on Twitter, the latest European Union decision concerning Libya, saying that “it is important for the EU ministers to agree and promote anti-people smuggling in the Mediterranean and train Libya coast guards.”

The EU ministers officially agreed, on Monday, to expand the Operation “Sophia” mandate to combat migration and implement the Security Council arms embargo, intercept suspected ships loaded with weapons and heading to Libya, except shipments meant for the Government of National Accord (GNA).
