The head of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, said that migrants should be returned to their origin countries instead of Libya, adding that “they can’t live with us.”
He said, to the British Express, on Wednesday that “the case of migrants coming from the south is entirely different from Turkey. Both cases can’t be easily compared”.
The Turkish –European agreement cites that all migrants, crossing from Turkey to Greece, shall be returned to Turkey and the European Union bear all expenses.
Al-Sarraj confirmed that Libya will do its best to end the crisis, adding that “it is unfortunate that the beaches in the country are the starting point for human smuggling. They should be the places of tourism and trade”.
