Foreign ministers from the EU and the Middle East are gathering in Vienna, on Monday, to support the Libyan Presidential Council (PC).
The US and Italy are to lead the discussions on how to help the PC to face the political crisis in Libya and fighting the Islamic State (IS) that controls vital areas in Libya, especially in the city of Sirte.
The discussion will include a plan of sending troops, under the leadership of Italy, to the occupied areas by the IS; but the priority is to find ways to strengthen the PC of the Government of National Accord (GNA) to create a united Libyan force that can fight the IS.
In another context, the US imposed sanctions on the head of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ageela Saleh, claiming that he was working to obstruct the endorsement of the GNA and delay the political transition in Libya.
The sanctions include freezing all of his assets he holds in the US and bans Americans from having any dealings with them. The EU imposed sanctions on him and two of his political allies the beginning of April
