The member of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Omar Al-Aswad, met, in Tunis on Friday, the American envoy to Libya Jonathan Winer. They discussed the latest developments in the Libyan crisis, and obstacles ahead of the Political Agreement, and ways to overcome them.
In the same context, Al-Aswad met, on Thursday, the British envoy to Libya, Jonathan Powell. They both discussed the Political Agreement path, and the developments of the Libyan crisis, as controversy revolves around the work of the Presidential Council from the capital Tripoli. They even discussed calling for conventions of the House of Representatives (HoR) to vote on granting confidence for the GNA and modifying the Constitutional Declaration.
Al-Aswad has refused to sign the formation of the GNA and withdrew from the presidential consultative meetings of the PC, in protest at the way the GNA formed and ministers were chosen.
