The Government of National Accord (GNA) crawled in its
birthplace in Skhirat, learned to walk in Tunisia before swimming from Sfax to its headquarter in Tripoli.
The Salvation Government, in Tripoli, banned the Presidential Council (PC) from landing in Mitiga airport, surprised with the arrival of the PC to a navy base in Abu-Setta, exhausted Tripoli residents warmly welcomed the PC, with white banners in Martyrs square, then welcomes subsequently came from across the country.
In less than a week, the PC achieved what all subsequent governments failed at since February, it brought unity back to disintegrated society, brought hope back to those who were desperate at rebuilding the country, militias, who were freely acting, Possess to discipline inside the capital, even closed embassies decided to re-open, while the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) and National Oil Corporation sided with the PC, and those breathless behind power mirage lost its track over sands, there is no other reference but the Presidential Council.
Without a single shot, Khalifa Al-Ghwail and his follower Ali Abu Zakouk decided to step aside and cede power they never had, and the head of the General National Congress, Nuri Abusahmain, suddenly disappeared as if he flew in the air like his two arrows, only the Mufti Al-Sadeq Al-Gheryani is left to defend Libya Dawn, criticizing the old version of Political Agreement, his students, such Abdel Basset Ghweila, hadn’t informed him that the agreement was changed, as for the head of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ageela Saleh, who blocked the HoR sessions for eight straight weeks, called members to attend to Tobruk without clarifying whether the reason is to re-negotiate or vote on endorsing the Government of National Accord (GNA).
The convention of the Sate Council in Tripoli, for the first session, and the unanimous vote on modifying the Constitutional Declaration, embarrassed Ageela Saleh and the Interim Government of the HoR, thus the PC has to go to Tobruk to propose his government in front of the HoR, any decisions from State Council or General National Congress are meaningless without vote from the HoR, it is enough from such couple that exhausted the county, even if the State Council’s decision put more pressure on the HoR to resume sessions.
The Presidential Council’s decision to freeze all ministerial bank accounts turned Al-Thinni’s government into a broken one, even though Al-Thinni and his justice minister still stickle refusing to act like Al-Ghwail, and here the leader of the army affiliated to the HoR, retired General, Khalifa Haftar, confirmed in an interview with Al-Ahram newspaper that he will not form military council, when he said that ”we will not accept to divide Libya, those who accept division has no honor, Libya will remain united, not eastern or western, honor Libyan people and army will defend its unity”.
He also confirmed his support to any government endorsed by the HoR, hence those who call for military council and Libya division drunk the bitter pill from the man they bet for.
Libya division scenario was burnt the moment Sedada boat landed in Tripoli, what is left for the Presidential Council is to land in Tobruk airport and visit Benghazi, accepting the HoR’s decision, to bring back all sovereign institutions that removed from Benghazi after Gaddafi’s coup, to return displaced back, to build major forces from east and west to liberate Sirte, and to resolve the liquidity crisis in banks, all of that will positively impact citizens, of which “Darkness sheiks manipulated then left with no hope”.
It is true that the GNA learned to walk before crawling, but it has to learn running, major problems in Libya need maximum speed to find resolutions before turning to chronic disease with no cure.
