GNC refuses State Council convention

The General National Council (GNC) has refused, in a statement, the meeting by the GNC members in Tripoli, legitimizing the State Council and modifying the Constitutional Declaration and called it unconstitutional.

It asserted that it will go to the Libyan courts to rule out in the legitimacy of the Political Agreement (PA) and the State Supreme Council (SSC).

The GNC stated that it convened, on Tuesday, its headquarters in full quorum after an invitation from its presidency and any other convention is invalid.

It also called on all to avoid violence and to abide by law and judiciary to maintain the state’s peaceful course.
