The State of Qatar hailed the arrival of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), that headed by Fayez Al-Sarraj, to Tripoli.
The Ministry of Foreign affairs in Qatar confirmed in a statement, that the Libyan Presidential Council (PC) move to the Libyan capital (Tripoli) in line with the peace agreement, is considered as an important step in the process of activating the political process in Libya.
It called on the Presidential Council to communicate with all Libyan parties, in order to create consensus on the outputs of the political agreement and starting a comprehensive national dialogue leading to national reconciliation that will restore stability in the country.
The statement also called on all Libyans to continue to expand the dialogue and consultation, stressing the need to engage in the political agreement and to support its outputs.
The statement renewed Qatar’s support for the Libyan people’s choices and aspirations in restoring security and stability in Libya and to preserve its unity and sovereignty, especially in the light of the growing threat of terrorism.
