Obama and Hollande support GNA in fighting IS

The American President, Barack Obama, and his French counterpart, François Hollande, stressed their support to the Government of National Accord (GNA) in Libya and the intentions to continue fighting the Islamic State group (IS).

Both presidents held their meeting on the sidelines of the fourth Nuclear Security Summit in Washington DC, which is attended by more than 50 foreign leaders.

Hollande called for full recognition of the GNA, while exerting all needed efforts to prioritize stability.

Obama hailed the role played by Hollande to encourage European partners to exchange more information, end foreign fighters, defining possible attacks and cut funding to terrorist groups.
