Italian coast guards rescued 1500 migrants off Libya during 48 hours, said officials, Monday.
All migrants were rescued in coordinated missions by Italian coast guards off Libya shores during Sunday and Monday. Nationalities of the migrants were revealed.
730 migrants were rescued, Sunday, 752 were rescued on Monday, including many children and women.
United Nations refugee agency said that 14 thousand of migrants arrived in Italy from Libya since the beginning of the year, up about 42.5% at the same period last year.
European leaders fear the deal struck with Turkey to prevent migrants heading to Greece, would force more migrants to cross Libya.
