The British Foreign Secretary, Philip Hammond, said that the Government of National Accord (GNA) is the only legitimate government, renewing his country’s readiness and the international community’s to help the GNA.
After a phone call with the President of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj, Hammond said that he asserted his country’s support for the GNA. Hammond stressed that the GNA has to start its work from Tripoli, as soon as the security situation allows.
Hammond added that the GNA will be faced by a series of challenges to fight the Islamic State group (IS) and smuggling.
Al-Sarraj received an official invitation from Hammond via phone, on Saturday, to visit the United Kingdom.
