A source inside the Misrata banking sector said that most commercial banks in the city suffer from liquidity problem, as traders and businessmen don’t trust banks to depose money on daily basis.
A source inside Sahara bank said that Wahda bank, the national commercial bank, Sahara and Jumhoria bank suffer from a liquidity crisis.
Several commercial banks have limited the withdrawal to 300 Dinars for residents and 200 Dinars for the displaced. While other banks including Sahara and the national commercial bank restricted withdrawal for the displaced till liquidity is available.
Misrata witnessed a sit-in, in which residents blocked Al-Dafnia and Al-Sdada gates and blocked enter and exit points.
