The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, said, Friday, that the world is busy following security situation in Sahel area, as some social and economic factors led to the growth of extremist movements.

Ki Moon added, from Nouakchott, that Libya is a “vivid example” of instability in the region, considering it as “source of grave concern for the whole world after the Islamic State (IS) controlled many cities inside the country”.

The United Nations is trying to achieve stability inside Libya, and spare it from collapsing and sliding towards more terrorism.

Ki Moon arrived to Nouakchott, Thursday evening, in a two days visit, then he is to leave Mauritania for Sahrawi refugee camps on the Algerian-Moroccan border.
