Saleh denies 100-members signature

The Head of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ageela Saleh, denied what some members said about preventing them from convening to adopt the Government of National Accord (GNA) headed by Fayez Al-Sarraj.

Saleh said “members who approved the government formation signed outside the HoR, some of them are out of Libya”.

Saleh told Al-Sarraj that members have some reservations concerning some ministers, calling for their replacement, but Al-Sarraj “left Tobruk after the session, without approving the required modifications” according to Saleh.

100 HoR members condemned in a statement that “actions of some members who oppose the GNA, and using power to prevent them from endorsing the government despite that number of attendees exceeded the legal quorum”.

The statement also denounced “the storming of the HoR building and the chaos that followed, threats addressed to members to prevent the voting”.

Signatories stressed their full support to the Presidential Council (PC) and unity government and its program proposed on 20 February.
