Al-Sarraj meets Kobler, Weiner and Egyptians in Cairo

The United Nations special envoy to Libya, Martin Kobler, met the head of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj, on Wednesday, in Cairo to discuss the future of the Government of National Accord (GNA).

“Met Fayez Serraj in Cairo. Endorsement of GNA by HoR in next days is a milestone for the peaceful future of Libya”, Kobler tweeted.

The American envoy to Libya, Johnson Weiner, also had arrived in Cairo, on Tuesday, to discuss the latest developments in Libya with Egyptian officials at the wake of announcing the GNA formation, MENA reported.

Some members of the House of Representatives (HoR), arrived in Cairo in the past day, while it wasn’t uncovered yet if Al-Sarraj will head to Tobruk to attend the HoR session.

The HoR had postponed its session scheduled for inspecting the GNA formation, proposed last Sunday to the next week, and called for the Al-Sarraj to come to Tobruk to present his governmental team.

Kobler, Weiner and Egyptian officials are scheduled to discuss ways to move forward in forming the GNA, so that it could be presented to the HoR for a vote of confidence during next week’s session.
