Tunisia says intervention in Libya will harm it

Essebsi: Intervention in Libya requires consulting Tunisia - Internet

The Tunisian Defense Minister, Farhat Al-Harshany, said that his country will perform no military action in Libya, since it believes that settling conflicts happens only through peaceful ways.

In a press conference on Saturday, Al- Harshany said that his country has completed building the sand hills and water trenches, along the Libyan-Tunisian borders, which he said is a protection for Tunisia against terrorism and smuggling.

The President, Beji Qaed Essebsi, said on Thursday that any military intervention in Libya will harm his country, adding that whoever considers intervening militarily in Libya should first consult Tunisia.

In last July, authorities in Tunisia started building a 200 km fence from Ras Ejdair north, to Thehiba in south.
