The head of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ageela Saleh, said that the HoR supports the Government of National Accord (GNA), adding that endorsing the GNA that formed by the Presidential Council (PC) is the job of the HoR.
Saleh confirmed that the HoR will convene to discuss the formed government, adding “the HoR will endorse the government if qualified enough by proposing a good program that deserves support from the HoR”, according to Libyan News Agency.
“Endorsing the formed government is the specialization of the HoR, no one can press on the HoR, we have to closely excogitate the new government formation to make sure it is a consensual one that can accomplish Libyans desires”, Saleh said.
He added that “the government can work from Tripoli after agreeing with groups controlling the capital, the government should be protected by Libyan army and police forces”.
The United Nations special envoy to Libya, Martin Kobler, said, on Twitter, he had long and fruitful meeting with Saleh, and stressed the need to form unity government that works from inside Tripoli.
