Shokry and Lamamra discuss situation in Libya


The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shokry, met, Wednesday, his Algerian counterpart, Ramtane Lamamra, and discussed developments of situations inside Libya, and coordinations within African Union, beside other issues on the agenda of the Security Council, headed by the Palestinian case. This came during Shokry’s participation in the Executive Council of the African Union meeting in Adis Ababa.

Official spokesman for the Egyptian exterior ministry, Ahmed Abu Zaid, said that the two ministers discussed the developments of political and security situation inside Libya, especially after the Security Council Resolution concerning support for Shkirat agreement.

Both stressed the importance of reaching consensus on the formation of the Government of National Accord (GNA), without wasting more time, in the awake of security deteriorating and the urgent need to promote the government’s ability to fight terrorism and stabilize the country.
