The member of the Presidency Council (PC), Omar Al-Aswad, announced resuming his membership in the PC through a statement on Tuesday.
Sl-Aswad had suspended his membership in the PC in objection at the formation of the Government of National Accord (GNA) he said was formed “in closed rooms”.
Al-Aswad welcomed the decision of the House of Representatives (HoR), concerning the GNA, calling on all parties to uphold their responsibilities to build the new Libya.
The HoR refused endorsing the GNA and demanded minimizing it to be a 17-member crisis government rather than 32 ministers.
The United Nations special envoy to Libya, Martin Kobler, met Al-Aswad on Saturday to listen to his point of view.
He praised the HoR call for him and the other member, Ali Al-Qatrany, to rejoin the PC and invited the Presidency Council to urgently meet. Al-Aswad advised the members of the Presidency Council to benefit from the mistakes of the GNA that refused by the HoR , work collectively and choose ministers on grounds of efficiency.
Al-Aswad reiterated that he will face any new steps that hinder the Libya of stability, equality and peace and invited all boycotting HoR members to join consensus.
