The Italian Foreign Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, expressed his country’s readiness to take part in a military operation in Libya, if needed.
“What the German Defense Minister Ursula von der Line, two days before, about its country’s possibility to send troops to Libya, reflects the debates that have been ongoing since a week between the allies about this country”, the German TV reported about Gentiloni.
Gentiloni said that Italy is ready to aid any military operation in Libya. “If the initiative was made by Germany, Italy will be happy”, he added.
“We need a further step, this is what we are looking for now with the birth of the Libyan government that is capable of addressing the international community”, he stated.
Gentiloni welcomed the decision of Presidency Council to form the Government of National Accord, considering it as a step forward in a fragile status. The government was announced to include 32 ministers.
