The Presidential Council (PC) decided, on Wednesday, to form a temporary security committee of 17 members to take the required security steps mentioned in the Political Agreement (PA).
The committee headed by General Abdul-Rahman Al-Taweel is assigned to put a plan to secure the capital city and other cities and approve rules of engagement for police, army and militias.
The resolution obliges the committee to present a regular report every 3 days to the PC about developments.
The United Nations special envoy to Libya, Martin Kobler, welcomed the formation of the security committee, through his official twitter account.
“I strongly welcome Presidency Council decs to form temp committee to facilitate security arrangement implementation.” He said.
