Germany considers sending 100 soldier to train the Libyan armed forces, as Libya witnesses political mayhem and under attack from the Islamic State group (IS), according to Der Spiegel.
For security reasons, training will be different from that of Kurds in Northern Iraq, but it will be in Tunisia.
Der Spiegel said “based on inner projects of the government, German troops, beside Italian troops to train Libyan forces within months”. From 150-200 soldier could be sent to Libya.
German defense minister rejected to comment.
The German government decided, Wednesday, to promote its military participation in Mali and Iraq by sending extra troops, which requires the approval of German Parliament.
