The United Nations special envoy to Libya, Martin Kobler, has called on all Libyans to unite and implement the Political Agreement in the wake of attacks by Islamic State group (IS) on oil terminals. He believed that the attacks aim at financing the group and demanded confronting it.
Kobler strongly condemned the attacks on Al-Sedra and Ras Lanouf oil terminals. “Libyan parties must spare no effort to block any attempt by Daesh (IS) to finance its terrorist agenda through seizure of Libyan oil” he stated in an official statement on Tuesday.
He continued that the attack serves as a strong reminder to all Libyans of the need to immediately implement the Libyan Political Agreement and form the Government of National Accord (GNA).
He welcomed the statement issued, Tuesday, by the Presidency Council of the GNA condemning the attack
Kobler called on all Libyans to unite behind the Government of National Accord so that together they can eliminate the threat of the IS.
“Every wasted day in failure to implement the Libyan Political Agreement is a day of gain for Daesh (IS)”, SRSG Kobler added.
