Gentiloni and Al-Sarraj discuss IS advances in Libya

Al-Sarraj expresses his concern over the latest fight escalation and the move of terrorist groups to the East - Internet

The Libyan Prime Minister, Faez Al-Sarraj, held a phone call with the Italian Foreign Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, in which they discussed the hazardous advances of Islamic State group (IS) in Sirte and the Italian readiness to support Libya against terrorism.

In an official Italian statement, the foreign ministry asserted that “the renewing alarming pressure creates by the IS in Libya” was the core of the phone call.

Al-Sarraj expressed his deep concern over the latest fight escalation and the move of terrorist groups to the East.

Gentiloni renewed Italy’s commitment against terrorism and asserted its support to efforts exerted by the Government of National Accord (GNA) to achieve stability.
