LIBYAPROSPECT – Editorial
A video broadcast by Al-Tanasoh TV channel, affiliated to Dar Al-Ifta in Tripoli, has caused a broad controversy amongst Libyans of all social classes and political and intellectual views.
Host of “Kalemat” program accused the President of Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, of not applying Sharia and thus endangering the country to the risk of attacks by extremist groups that will apply what the companion of the Prophet Muhammad, Abu Bakr Al-Seddik, did in the age of apostasy wars.
The host, apparently named “Dr.Mohamed Jalal Omar”, said that the government is Leon’s not Al-Sarraj’s, which he believed is Anti-Sharia and makes the government disbeliever and entice extremist groups to make operations around the country. Such wars will be prior to their fight against Jews, he stated.
Observers believe that such video proofs the channel being pirated by affiliates to extremist groups including the Islamic State (IS). They add that it represents threats to Libyans in the event of accepting the Government of National Accord (GNA) after the political agreement was signed on December 17th in Skhirat.
The host believed what is going on is a pure disbelief, saying that the guardian “Waley Al-Amr”, referring to the General National Congress (GNC) should appoint a legitimate government, which is considered a waste of the agreement and its outputs.
After the video went viral on the internet, Sheikh Osama El-Traiky, the son of the popular Sheikh, Mostafa El-Traiky, said
Omar didn’t come up with evidence from Sharia to support his claims. He believed it to be a clear threat of explosions; “there will be killings and explosions if this government is agreed upon” he said on social media.
He replied to the matters of the guardian and the disbeliever government saying “none of Islam scholars said obeying the disbeliever in the allowed matters is disbelief”. He called on all scholars to take actions. “We wait for one of Dar Al-Ifta scholars to reply to this delusion, to show their fear of Allah and fear over this country that such persons lead to blood and destruction” he added.
The Journalist, Fathy ben Eissa told LIBYAPROSPECT that he
waits for hearing the opinions of the Mufti, Sadek Al-Gheriani, whose son runs the channel and the opinion of Sheikh Mohamed Omar Mawlod, whose son Jalal said on the program, as they have always said they never accept the wrong whatever its source is.
The Islamic researcher, Fathy Agoob, said on his Facebook page that media chaos has allowed anyone to give
analyzing and warning speeches, expect and issue Sharia judges, misusing people’s lack of awareness, which worsens the situations. “Whoever helped those to appear on media will bear a huge brunt of their doings” he added.
Idris Tayeb Lamin, the writer and diplomat, told
LIBYAPROSPECT that this incident is a horrible one. He added that it is the clearest demonstration of terrorist media. “It is not acceptable for Al-Tanasoh TV channel to broadcast such material that accuses the new government of disbelief and threaten society of explosions as if the speaker doesn’t belong to these terrorist groups he talks about, while he agrees with it ideologically. He is the primary responsible of any attacks that may happen” he said.
Lamin believed that the Prosecutor General should issue a warrant to arrest this host, sue the TV channel and demand its closure as it became a tool for violence, killing and supporting terrorist actions. He also held Sheikh Al-Gheriani responsible for the fatwas and the content of the programs that threatened of killing the PM in the event of entering Tripoli. “This channel is a part of a dark stage that must disappear forever”, he added.
Sheikh Wanees Al-Mabrouk Al-Fsai said in the lead of an
article he published on his official page: “I hoped that some people would pay attention to what Dr Jalal said. I was truly sad to find some of whom I thought have good minds defending him as if he erred in Tayammum or the prayer direction”. He asserted that there is no major sin than accusing Muslims of disbelief and faking proofs from Islam on it, especially through known media platform.
