Kobler announces Saleh’s acceptance of the agreement


The United Nations special envoy to Libya, Martin Kobler, announced that the chief of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ageela Saleh, has accepted the political agreement signed in Skhirat on 17th December.

Kobler embraced the acceptance announced b Saleh. “Encouraged by mtg (meeting) with president ageela in Al Baida today, his acceptance of the Libyan Political Agreement. Good way forward” he tweeted.

A meeting is scheduled to happen between Kobler and the chief of the General National Congress (GNC), Nuri Abusahmain, in Tripoli, in addition to other Libyan symbols.

Kobler added through his official Twitter account that he made a phone call with the retired General Khalifa Haftar. He also hailed discussions with tribal dignitaries and mayors of Cyrenaica in Shahat.

“I see a lot of good will to join the political agreement”, he added.

Close sources to the UNSMIL said that Kobler asserted in his meeting with Saleh that no provisions of the agreement will be modified.
