The General National Congress (GNC) announced, Friday, that its president, Nuri Abusahmain, finally met the president of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ageela Saleh, in Oman, which is the first formal announcement about secret meeting between both presidents during the last two days.
Leaks from close sources mentioned that Oman asked Abusahmain and Saleh to support the Shkirat agreement and the Government of National Accord (GNA), to prevent any further complications.
On the another hand, Al-Obaydat and Murabeteen tribes in Laly area, western Derna, demanded Ageela Saleh to endorse the unity government headed by Fayez Al-Sarraj.
One participant in the meeting in Laly, Fadeel Al-Ghaithy, said, Saturday, that the participants agreed that Saleh would approve the accord government, confirming that Saleh preliminary approved.
He added that Saleh would resign if asked by Al-Obaydat and Murabeteen tribes.
Al-Ghaithy pointed that another meeting between Al-Obaydat and Murabeteen tribes was held in Om Alrezm, east of Derna. One member of Al-Obaydat said the purpose of Laly meeting is to decide the position of Barqa tribes concerning the unity government.
It is worth mentioning that notables of Berqa tribes met, Friday, in the presence of the HoR president, Ageela Saleh, in Laly area, west of Derna.
Abusahmain met with Saleh in Malta two weeks ago in the first meeting between the two parties, where they agreed to reject the agreement signed by representatives of both the HoR and the GNC under the auspices of the United Nations in the Moroccan city of Shkirat.
