The assistant for the Egyptian Foreign Minister for neighboring countries ambassador, Osama Al-Majdoob, denied any plans for Egyptian military actions against Islamic State (IS) in Libya, stressing that he is not aware of any arrangements by any other country about the matter.

Media reports linked the meeting between British ambassador to Egypt, John Casen, and the assistant of the Egyptian Foreign Minister for neighboring countries to British concern about the IS in Libya, referring to military coordination between Cairo and London to fight the group.

Al-Majdoob described such reports as “non sense and naive”. He added, according to Aki news agency, that he has periodic meetings with the British, French or Italian ambassadors as well.
