The family of the abductee was contacted for ransom

A local Libyan environmental official was abducted on Tuesday by unknown armed-men in Sabratha, west Tripoli, the Libyan news agency reported.

The media bureau of the environmental monuments association in Sabratha confirmed the abduction of its executive manager, Tarek Moftah, on his way to the capital Tripoli by an armed group on Wady Al-Hai road.

The family of the abductee was contacted for ransom, the bureau added. The amount of money required for releasing Moftah wasn’t announced by his family.
