The chief of the General National Congress
(GNC), Nuri Abusahmain, has officially invited Libya’s former crown prince to attend the 64th independence celebrations in Tripoli.
Abusahmain sent an official invitation letter to Mohammed Hasan Alreda who is the crown prince of the former king, Mohamed Idris Al-Senussi.
The independence celebrations are to be held in Tripoli on Thursday. “Due to the honorable history of the royal family that is full of grant and achievements, we invite your highness, Prince Mohammed Hasan Alreda to attend the grand ceremony in the capital Tripoli”, the invitation read. No news on any reply from the prince to the invitation till recently
Libya’s independence was announced by king Idris Al-Senussi in 1951.
