The joint committee on Misrata and Tawergha issued road map aiming to form common committee to resolve disputes between both parties, in line with the output of Libya municipalities meeting last January in Geneva under the auspices of the United Nations.
The joint committee seeks to meet legitimate aspirations of Misrata and Tawergha citizens, fairly overcome all disputes and to contribute in the building of Libya on the basis of the rule of law.
The committee is ready to cooperate with the Libyan government through local administrations in both cities to accelerate the return of the displaced, as soon as possible.
The committee called the government to give priority to a comprehensive program of transitional justice, accelerate the formation of a fact checking committee, address the needs of all victims of human rights violations. The Joint Committee will meet during the first quarter of 2016, facilitated by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
